Your 3 days wildlife tour will take you to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s second largest protected area which offers you a chance to spot out the 4 of the big 5 game while on game drive. This safari features wildlife spotting, exciting launch cruise through a 45 kilometer long Kazinga channel and an optional chimpanzee tracking in the Kyambura gorge. Queen Elizabeth National Park features as one of the most famous tourist sites in Uganda and it is credited for its distinct eco system that comes with shady humid forests, magnificent savanna combretum, Lakes and wetlands which make the protected area the perfect spot for one to view the 4 of the big 5 game (elephants, buffaloes, lions as well as the rare tree climbing lions at Ishasha region, leopards), 10 primate species and more than 620 bird species.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Early in the morning you will have breakfast and after you will set off to Queen Elizabeth National Park at around 6:30am, western Uganda. You will have a stopover at Equator for photo taking and perform an experience to justify the geographical divide between the 2 (two) hemispheres. You will also pay a visit to craft centers where you will have a chance to purchase some of the souvenirs and then proceed to Igongo cultural center about 12 kilometers to Mbarara for lunch. You will be served African cuisine at the popular Kahwa Kanuzire restaurant and after set off to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will have dinner and night stay at Mweya Safari Lodge (Luxury), Enganzi Game Lodge (standard) and Pumba Safari Cottages (Basic).

Day 2: Game drives in the morning and launch cruise at Kazinga channel in the afternoon

Following breakfast in the morning, you will set off to Kasenyi sector for your morning game drives that will reward you with the amazing sightings at the buffaloes, lions, spotted hyenas, elephants, waterbucks, Uganda Kobs as well as bird species like African white backed vulture, hooded vulture, palm nut vulture, Rupell’s griffon vulture, lappet faced vulture, brown snake eagle, Wahlberg’s eagle, African crake, bateleur, martial eagle, grey kestrel, long created eagle, crowned plover, Senegal plover, African wattled plover and others. You will also have a chance to catch a glimpse at the vast savanna grassland and after drive back to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon; you will set off for a launch cruise along Kazinga channel at around 2:00pm. While on boat cruise you will have opportunity to spot out the Nile crocodiles, hippos as well as many bird species such as yellow billed stork, kingfishers, African skimmer and others. After, your 2 hours’ boat cruise you will return to lodge where you will have dinner and a night stay at Mweya Safari Lodge (Luxury), Enganzi Game Lodge (standard) and Pumba Safari Cottages (Basic).

Day 3: Wildlife viewing in the morning at Kasenyi area and return to Kampala

You will get early in the morning and have breakfast in your respective lodge and after embark on another rewarding game drive to spot out the species that you never sighted the previous day while on game drive. After, you will drive back to Kampala and this will mark the end of your 3 day wildlife safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
