The 3 Day Gorilla Trekking Safari in Bwindi National Park Uganda
The 3 day Uganda gorilla safari is organized to those with little time but interested in seeing the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Note that Uganda’s Bwindi impenetrable forest has the best location for gorilla tracking adventure. The 3 day / 2 night gorilla tour package can start in Kampala and end in Kampala, or start in Kampala (Uganda) and end in Kigali (Rwanda). This is a private tour, we normally use 4×4 safari land cruisers, Nissan patrol, land rover, and 7 seater min bus or Super custom. Below is the proposed day by day itinerary for 3 day gorilla safari in Uganda.
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Southern western Uganda
Pick up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe after breakfast by your professional tour guide (our company representative) and hit the road to western Uganda. We can have a stopover at the Equator for photographs and break tea, proceed to Mbarara town for Lunch before continuing through the Kigezi region, famously known as the “Switzerland of Africa”, characterized by Majestic rolling hills, deep valleys and winding roads. Dinner and overnight stay at Nkuringo Gorilla Camp / Gorilla Mist Camp / Nshongi Gorilla Resort / Gift of Nature Lodge / Clouds mountain gorilla lodge / Chameleon Hill Lodge and Gorilla Safari Lodge among others.
Day 2: Gorilla Tracking Adventure, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
This is your day for “life changing event”; Mountain gorilla tracking. Start early with heavy breakfast at the lodge (by 06:00h), then drive to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking in Bwindi national park. You must be physically fit to go gorilla trekking. The trek takes 2 -8 hours depending on the movement of these Gentle Giants in their natural habitat! You can hire a porter to assist you during the trek, he can pull or push you where necessary, and he can carry your packed water and lunch.
The trek is quite strenuous and you must be physically fit to go gorilla trekking. It can take 2 -8 hours depending on the movement of these Gentle Giants in their natural habitat! You will be guided by park rangers who will give you instructions during the trek. Meeting gorillas in the jungle is an adventure experience for lifetime. The thrill of encountering these gentle Giants erases away all the bad memories you went through while searching for them. You will be given one hour maximum with gorillas, enjoy them feeding, playing and young ones swinging on trees.
Return to your lodge for late lunch; relax as you wait for dinner and overnight. If the evening is free, we can take a community walk around, meet and interact with local people. Or we can drive to the beautiful Lava dammed lake of wonders; Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale where we can stay for overnight at Bird Nest resort or Arcadia cottages or Biunyonyi overland resort overlooking the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi.
Day 3: Reserved for Departure
Breakfast and enjoy a canoe ride on lake Bunyonyi to Visit different Islands (depending on the weather and time availability), later, we either drive back to Kampala / Entebbe Airport for your departure flight (9hours) drive, or we can transfer to Kigali International Airport in Rwanda through Katuna boarder (4hours drive). Here we have an opportunity to visit Gisozi genocide memorial museum in Kigali.
