The 4-Day Rwanda double gorilla trek gives you a chance to trek 2 different gorilla families in Volcanoes National Park. Trek the gorillas twice on your double gorilla safari, giving you better comparisons about gorilla trekking with African Jungle Adventures. The safari starts and ends in Kigali, Rwanda.
DETAILED SAFARI ITINERARY
Day 1: Kigali City Tour
Upon your arrival at Kigali airport, meet your driver-guide and transfer to Volcanoes National Park. Time permitting, explore Kigali city, including visits to genocide memorial sites, museums, local markets, and art and craft shops. Drive north-westwards to Volcanoes National Park, home to over 12 habituated gorilla families. Overnight at Wilderness Bisate Lodge, Gorilla View Lodge or Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge.
Day 2: First Gorilla Trek
After breakfast, assemble at the park headquarters for registration and a briefing about the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking in Rwanda. At 8:00 am, embark on a trek to meet the first gorilla family. You will spend an hour with the gorillas in the jungle, learn about their behaviour, take pictures and videos, and enjoy this memorable experience. After the trek, if time allows, enjoy lunch in Ruhengeri and visit the beautiful lakes of Bulera and Ruhondo.
Day 3: Second gorilla trek – Ibyiwacu community village Tour
After breakfast, you will report to the headquarters for your second Gorilla trek to a different gorilla group.
Iby’Iwacu Traditional Village
After lunch, visit the Iby’Iwacu traditional village to learn about Rwanda’s traditions, beliefs, and cultures. Enjoy Rwanda’s cultural performance, which will make you part of the community.
Day 4: Departure
Depending on your departure flight time, we transfer you to the airport where the tour ends.
