These remarkable primates are also called the Eastern lowland gorillas a gorilla species which is equally endangered and mainly lives within the thick forests in Central Africa. Your 3 days lowland gorilla tour begins and stops in Kigali capital city in Rwanda which comes with amazing sights of the Rwanda countryside, Butare museum and Nyanza palace to supplement your experiences with the lowland gorillas.

Day 1: Departure from Kigali to Bukavu

Early in the morning after your breakfast in your respective lodge or hotel in Kigali, you will be picked by one of our experienced driver guides ready to set off to Cyangugu south of Rwanda. You will be driven via magnificent landscapes of southern Rwanda where you will have a stopover at Nyanza to explore the royal palace called Rukaari, home to the king Musinga and his successor Rudahigwa for an intense cultural experience, and another incredible stopover at Butare town for lunch and visit the Rwanda national museum which is famous as one of the biggest museums in East Africa which offers more on heritage experiences. After, you will set off to Cyangugu crossing to Bukavu Congo for dinner and an overnight stay at Hotel Horizon (budget), Orchid Safari Lodge (midrange).

Day 2: Lowland gorilla tracking in Kahuzi Biega National Park

Following breakfast, you will set off for –lowland gorilla trekking in Kahuzi Biega National Park – Congo. This primate adventure is dramatic and offers an opportunity for visitors to learn the behaviour of the lowland gorillas in depth in addition to the mountain gorillas. Spend an hour with the largest gorilla species in their natural habitat, learn their behaviours and have fun.  After, you will embark on a nature walk around the park as you explore the Tshibati waterfall which offers the most stunning sceneries or alternatively, visit Bukavu and the Mbayo tea estates. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge (Day 1)

Day 3: Return to Kigali

You will have breakfast, check out and set off to Kigali Rwanda and this will mark the end of your 3 days lowland gorilla trekking safari in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
