Safari Overview

Murchison falls National Park derives it name from the Murchison falls where the mighty river Nile explodes through a narrow gorge (7Mtrs wide) and flows down 47Mtrs to become a placid river whose banks are thronged with Hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks and buffaloes. The Vegetation is characterized by savannah, Riverine forest and woodland. Wildlife includes; lions, leopards, chimpanzee giraffes, buffaloes, hartebeests, oribis, Uganda Kob, Chimpanzees and many bird species including the rare shoebill stock.

Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Kampala - Murchison Falls National Park
Leave Kampala and drive through Luwero Triangle witha a stop over at Masindi hotel for lunch. Drive to the park through Budongo forest on the western arm of the Great Rift Valley to Top of the falls, enjoy the fabulous falls where the Nile perfects its gorgeous falls concocts a deafening roar and rainbow in a spiral of the spray. Cross the great River Nile by a ferry before you retire to the superb confort and service of Paraa Safari lodge. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge / Sambiya River Lodge or Red Chillis Camp.

Day 2: Wildlife Safari - Murchison Falls National Park
Take breakfast and transfer to the northern part of the park for a game drive. View Elephants, Buffaloes, Bushbucks, Lions, and a variety of bird species. After lunch, proceed for a two-hour launch cruise up to the substructure of the mighty Murchison falls where sinister water escapes from the narrow gorge, an opportunity to see the amazing hippos, crocodiles, water birds along the river banks enabling a wonderful birding safari. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Budongo Forest - Depart to Kampala
After breakfast, cross the river back via Budongo forest and lunch at Masindi hotel. Return to Kampala.

There is an optional activity of chimpanzee tracking at Pabidi Budongo forest on day three in the morning before driving back to kampala.
