Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival into Kenya: Nairobi/Jomo-Kenyatta International Airport
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta Airport, you will meet your tour guide (Our company representative) who will transfer you to your Hotel in Nairobi for a welcome meal, briefing about the East Africa Safari, Dinner and Overnight.
Day 2: Nairobi - Masai Mara Game Reserve
After early breakfast at the Hotel, leave Nairobi and drive through the Great Rift Valley to the world's famous Masai Mara game reserve, reach there by Lunch time at Fairmont Mara Safari Club. Take an afternoon game viewing drive to see a variety of wild animals including the Big Five, later go for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 - 4: Masai Mara National Reserve
The two days stay within Masai Mara National reserve will reward you with big game viewing. Along the game drives, expect to easily see rare animals such as Lions, Leopard, Jackals, plus many others such as Rhinos, Hippos, Crocodiles, Giraffe, Wildebeests, Zebras, Buffalo, Warthogs, Hyenas, Wild dogs, several antelope species and Elephant among others. It is in the Masai Mara that the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti National park (Northern Tanzania) in search of water and pasture takes place. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna-lions, cheetahs, wild dogs, jackals, hyenas and vultures. This wildebeest migration usually takes place between July and October. Additionally, Balloon Excursions can be arranged. Also expect excellent birding with over 450 Bird species recorded here.
All meals and overnight stay at Fairmont Mara Safari Club or Mara Enchoro Camp.
Day 5: Masai Mara game reserve - Lake Naivasha
Have a cup of tea/coffee and proceed for an early morning game drive in the park, return to the camp for full breakfast and thereafter head for Lake Naivasha. Have lunch at Cray Fish Camp or Naivasha Sopa Lodge. The afternoon can be spent visiting the Hell's Gate National park for a walk or bicycle riding, and a boat trip on lake Naivasha can be arranged. Dinner and overnight at the camp or lodge.
Day 6: Lake Naivasha - Lake Nakuru National Park
Take early break fast at the lodge/camp and depart for Lake Nakuru National Park in the west. Lake Nakuru is famous for thousands of lesser and greater flamingos that live on the lake. Lunch will be at Lake Nakuru Lodge or WCK Guest house. Take an afternoon game drive that will reward you with a wide variety of wildlife and various species of birds residing here. Dinner and overnight will be at Lake Nakuru Lodge or WCK Guest house.
Day 7: Lake Nakuru - Lake Bogoria - Lake Baringo
Early this morning after breakfast, we shall drive North past the Menengai Crater into the Volcanic active Lake Bogoria National reserve, famous for the Hot springs. Animals of in this conservation area are rare and they include the grater Kudu antelopes and occasional leopard. After visiting Lake Bogoria you will proceed further north to the Lake Baringo. Take a boat trip around the lake to see hippos and birds on the lake. Dinner and overnight will be at the Lake Baringo Lodge or Roberts Camp.
Day 8: Lake Baringo - Samburu National Reserve
Have breakfast and drive south crossing the Equator to Nakuru and further through the Thomson Falls in Nyahururu, proceed further still northwards into the Semi Arid Samburu game reserve with lots of game viewing en-route. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Sopa Safari Lodge.
Day 9: Samburu Game Reserve: Half Day Game drive and Cultural visits
We shall have a half day game viewing drive in Samburu and relax at the lodge after lunch. Alternatively, we can take visits to the local samburu villages to explore more about the local culture. Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge.
Day 10: Samburu Game Reserve - Mt Kenya Region.
Have breakfast and drive to Mount Kenya Region with lots of game viewing en-route. Lunch at Serena Mountain Lodge or Mountain Rock campsite, and then proceed for afternoon game drive at Sweetwater's sanctuary. Sweetwater's Sanctuary is the only sanctuary for rehabilitation in Kenya of these widely abused chimpanzees with two groups living in an environment as close to their natural habitat as possible.
Dinner and overnight at the Camp or Lodge.
Day 11: Mt Kenya – Amboseli National Park
Depart after breakfast with packed lunch and drive via Nairobi to Amboseli National Park at the base of Kilimanjaro Mountain, arriving in the late evening, relax as we wait for dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge or Kibo safari Camp.
Day 12: Amboseli National Park
The whole day will be spent in Amboseli National Park, exploring its treasures through game drives taken around. Dinner and overnight.
Day 13: Amboseli National Park - Tsavo West National Park
Depart for Tsavo West National Park with packed lunch, stop at Mzima Springs, the source of most of Mombasa's fresh water, take a walk down to an underwater observation chamber to watch hippo or crocodile swim along the floor of this crystal clear spring. Take a game drive in Tsavo, which is famous for its large herds of the Red elephants Dinner and overnight at the Sarova Taita Hills Game Lodge or Tsavo Safari Camp.
Day 14 Tsavo West - Tsavo East
Leave Tsavo West after breakfast and drive across Tsavo East National Park whose boundary is the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway.Have a full day game viewing, dinner and overnight at the Ndololo KWS campsite or Voi Safari Lodge.
Day 15: Tsavo East National Park - Aberdares
Early morning game drive and leave for Aberdares through to the Central Kenya highland via Nairobi arriving in the Aberdares National Park by evening. Dinner and overnight at Aberdare Country Club or Reedbuck Campsite.
Day 16: Aberdares National Park - Nairobi
Have breakfast and take a morning game drive in Aberdares, visit the waterfalls and the dense equatorial forests, thereafter, head for Nairobi arriving in the afternoon. Relax in the evening as we wait for dinner and overnight in Nairobi.
Day 17: Nairobi - Arusha
Have early breakfast and depart Nairobi, head southwards to the Kenya-Tanzania border town of Namanga for immigration formalities to enter Tanzania. Dinner and overnight stay in Arusha
Day 18: Arusha - Lake Manyara
You will be picked up at your hotel by your guide early in the morning and drive west to the lake manyara National Park, reach there by lunch time at Lake Manyara View / Game lodge. Take an afternoon game drive in the park, which is famed for the tree climbing lions. Dinner and overnight at the Twiga campsite, Lake Manyara Game lodge
Day 19 Lake manyara - Ngorongoro
Take a morning game drive through after breakfast and proceed for the world famous Ngorongoro Crater which regarded as world's 8th wonder. You will descend 2000 ft into the Crater for a full day game viewing drive. Drive out of the crater and go to Simba campsite on the rim of the crater for dinner and overnight.
Day 20 Ngorongoro Conservation area - Serengeti National Park
Depart after breakfast and drive further west to the world famous Serengeti National Park. Arrival will be for lunch at the seronera public campsite or Serengeti Safari Lodge. Take an afternoon game drive and return to the Lodge or campsite at sunset for dinner and overnight.
Day 21: Serengeti national park
The whole day will be spent exploring the vast Serengeti park, which is home to all The Big Fives that include African Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Rhino and Buffalo. Dinner and overnight at Treetops lodge or Maramboi Tented Camp.
Day 22: Serengeti - Tarangire National Park
After breakfast depart Serengeti with lots of game viewing en-route to the Tarangire National Park. Of all the National Parks in the northern circuit of Tanzania, Tarangire is the remotest and much drier. Here, big herds of elephants roam the wild. Take an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at a campsite just outside Tarangire National Park.
Day 23: Tarangire - Arusha - Nairobi
Depart in the morning and drive back to Arusha to board your afternoon shuttle bus to Nairobi arriving in the late evening. Dinner and overnight stay in Nairobi.
Day 24: Nairobi - Entebbe - Bwindi National park
You will transfer to the airport for your morning flight to Entebbe (Uganda), where you will connect to Bwindi impenetrable Forest National Park by Charter flight. Alternatively, we can travel to Bwindi by road which takes 7-9 hours from Entebbe / Kampala. Travel by road offers another opportunity for lots of scenic viewing en-route. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Homesteads or Gorilla resort.
Day 25: Gorilla tracking Bwindi National Park
An early morning set off for gorilla tracking and return to the camp in the afternoon.
Dinner and overnight.
Day 26: Bwindi Entebbe Airport.
Drive or fly back to Entebbe air port for your flight back home.
