4 Days tour: Primates & Gorilla Safari in Queen & Bwindi National Parks
This is another exciting Uganda Safari for those interested in tracking Gorillas and primates like chimpanzees, Monkeys as well as Baboons among others. This 4 days itinerary takes you through Queen Elizabeth National Park for wildlife viewing, proceed to Cyambura / Kyambura gorge for primates trekking and finally connect to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for Mountain gorilla tracking.
4 Days Itinerary - primates & gorilla tracking safari to Uganda
Day 1: Kampala - Equator - Queen Elizabeth (Launch cruise)
Early in the morning drive off to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will stop at the equator for photographs and then proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park, following the Rwenzori mountain ranges, reach there by lunch time. It's a 5-7 hours drive from Kampala-Uganda's Capital. After lunch at Mweya Safari Lodge, proceed for an afternoon launch cruise on the Kazinga channel. This boat trip will reward you with game like hippos, buffaloes, Nile crocodiles basking along the shores and plenty of waterbirds. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge / Simba Safari Lodge.
Day 2: Queen Elizabeth - Kyambura Gorge - Ishasha - Bwindi Forest
This morning transfer to the Kyambura gorge to track chimpanzees and other primates like colobus monkeys, Mangabeys, baboons, Bushbabies and many more. You will then have lunch and then drive off to Bwindi Impenetrable National park. This journey will take you through the Ishasha sector where you should watch out for tree climbing lions enroute to reach in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla resort / Buhoma homestead/ Buhoma community Bandas.
Day 3: Life changing Event (Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Forest)
Wake up and prepare for the unforgettable experience; Gorilla tracking). You will have breakfast to transfer to the park headquarters with packed lunch and water for briefing before setting off to the forest in search for mountain gorillas. The time you will take searching these humble apes is unpredictable. However, it ranges between 2-8 hours depending on their movement. The activity requires you to go through steep rocks climbing up and down making it tiresome; however the thrill of encountering these giant primates erases the poor memories you went through in trying to find them. Dinner and over night at Gorilla Resort / Buhoma homestead/ Buhoma community Bandas.
Day 4: Bwindi - Kampala
After this astounding experience we have to go back to Kampala. Have breakfast and hit the road to Kampala. You will have a stop in any of the districts for lunch to reach Kampala in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Africana / Serena hotel/Holiday Express Hotel.
